Nails Tutorials so Easy You Can Bleed (2) : How To Do Colourful Polka Dots

... So sorry, didn't update for the whole 2 to 3 weeks. I didn't know what to blog about.
And this is another nail tutorial. To my dear loyal readers who are looking forward to a blog post with good contents, sorry to tell you that this is another bimbo update. T.T I know some of you don't do nails (but it's okay, you can share this to those who do nails)

I have a lot of nerve and so thick skin. Updating my blog so inconsistently and I still have the nerve to ask people come read my blog!

Flunyway, move on to my tutorial. This time is a polka dot (sigh... another one!). I love doing polka dot cos it's always so naise to look at and it's so bloody easy to do (that you can bleed).

I used a lot of colours this time cos it's colourful polka dot. Very easy to do one lah... you just need to apply different colours on your polka dots.

I used so much. From left onwards:

  1. Elianto white colour. I don't quite recommend this though. It's hard t apply evenly and it thickens up very fast. I've just bought it for about 2 months and it has already started to thicken. I think when it comes to white colour, you should get better quality ones because white is the hardest to apply. Using brands like OPI and ChinaGlaze should be better (but I go for cheap products, so I've never used them. If you have, drop by my comment and tell me if it's good or not)   -  RM5.50
  2. Elianto purplish blue (dunno if there's such word) from their new collection. - RM5.50
  3. Elianto dark blue.  -  now should be RM5.50
  4. Etude House pastel yellow. - RM5.90 (but I got discount so it was RM3.90)
  5. Etude House LUCIDarling shining green. - after discount RM8.80
  6. Fake OPI magnetic shining maroon. - RM25
  7. The Face Shop gold colour. - after discount RM3.90
  8. SASA's bright red.- RM3.90
  9. The Face Shop top coat. - RM5.90
For my base colour, I used these Elianto's white and Face Shop's gold.

This is what I do first. I painted white on my nails.

Aiya, the photo a little blur. Nevermind.. so what you do is you paint two coats of white colour. It doesn't matter if it's uneven and looks ugly like mine. T.T I too lazy to erase all the side part and take a nice photo. An ugly photo will do as long as you see my point. : D

Then I painted two to three coats of gold on top of it. The reason why I'm painting the white first is because my gold colour is really light and it's not opaque enough. If I don't paint white, it would look darker. With a white as the base, it lightens up the gold and brings out its colour more. It depends on your nail polish. If yours is like mine, you can paint white first then the gold. But if you're already satisfied enough with your original colour, then you can straight away paint onto your nails. The white is just to bring out the gold colour so that it's brighter.

After that, you just have to add polka dot. I got teach how to do polka dots before at here. You can use my way of doing polka dots.

But this time, I'm out of black coloured pins (always disappear out of a sudden one) so I used paper clips and toothpicks instead.

I used a paper clip and then break it,after that dipped it into the nail polish.

Then I dip it sideways like this. I don't recommend this way though (so I'm not gonna explain further more on this method). The size is messy and the size can be irregular. I'm not a fan of messy dots so I don't do it.

And then I changed and used toothpicks (totally forgotten I've got toothpicks at home!).

My toothpick has got a flat rounded tip so I don't have to break. Can just dip into the nail polish and apply on the nails. But if your toothpick has got sharp ends at both sides, then you have break it.

When you break your toothpick, you get something like this. Then you just trim the edges and then as usual, dip into nail polish and do your polka dots. : D

The trick is how you combine different colours to give it a different style. If you want colourful, mix all the different colours you have, from red to blue to yellow to green to white.

Nah, like this. How you combine the colours is important. If you want to do like me, you can't have too many of one colour, the most two dots. Red colour is a colour that could really change the the entire look, even with just one dot. So if you don't want it to look too bright, don't put too much red. If you want it to look cool, put only cooling colours (like blue, green) and avoid red and yellow. If you want like me, look more colourful, put  all the contrasting colours like I said lah..

Because I don't want it to look too messed with with dots, I only painted 3 nails. It's kinda up to you how you want to control your colours and designs. : D You can also have alternate colours on alternate nails, like maybe red dots on one finger and blue dots on another. So yalah, you go try your own colours lah, super easy only.

My nails don't look perfect (like the middle finger got so many scratches) cos I'm such a lazyass, dowan to wait quietly until it completely dries and cos' also using cheap nail polish.. cannot expect much. But aiya, I also  giving you guys see the realistic and clear photo on how it might turn out for you too. I mean, a lot of nail tutorials always do until so perfect then when you do yourself, totally screw up the whole thing one... the tutorials cheat ppl... hmphh!! T.T

And why I always got comment on my blog post, also got some people start reading my blog liao but my ads money always won't increase one?! Help me to click!
