Books.

I keep forgetting to update my blog.
.
.
.
I know the future is getting nearer.
I know...
I really know, that's why I'm so damn scared.
And I'm out of excuses for me to run away.

I kinda makes me think. About things.
So, you know how sometimes the smart students are discriminated.
No, I'm not trying to say that I'm smart. And I know you're gonna click other people's blog because you see too many words in this post.
But before you go, read on. I insist.

So (good to see you're still reading), personally, I really feel that smart students can be really pitiful sometimes. I'm not asking you to pity that type of I-know-I'll-not-fail-in-whatever-I-do type of people. In fact, I'm asking you to think of those kiasu type. I'm not being sarcastic lor.

Have you ever wondered why would all these students actually study like there's no tomorrow when they themselves know that they're smart.

And the answer's easy. They feel insecure. Everytime when exams are here, do you go like, "What for I study. I know I'm smart..."

No, you don't, do you?
And if you're smart, do you feel the pressure from your family and relatives? You can't blame them either because it's not wrong to expect something more out of a smart student. Whatever pressure that your family is having on you is whatever pressure that you are giving to the smart ones. I'm pretty sure that when you see kiasu people, you go, "Aiya, she so smart. Of course la she's gonna get straight As!"

What if she doesn't?
What if she fails terribly?

You might think that it's impossible. But it is this thought that there are a lot of kiasus over in Malaysia and Singapore. It's the pressure that's driving them nuts. It's the society. It's the impression towards them that's making them like this. It's you. It's me.
And yet when we see them studying, we talk bad about them.

Most of my friends are smarty-pants. And being in IJC, it's impossible not to see this kind of students. But when you think about it, why would they study so much?
They wanna win, of course!
But why would they wanna win?
Because they are scared of losing.
Why are they so scared of losing? Because they can't lose!
Why can't they lose? Because they are smart.
....
So, at the end of the day, we've been expecting too much from these smart people.

If only we are willing to make life an easier place, then perhaps, smart people can be happy.
After all, what's more important than happiness?
